Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement today in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to block the President’s executive amnesty actions:

“Today’s decision is a major victory for the American people, the rule of law and the protection of the U.S. Constitution.  I’ve been clear from the start that President Obama’s decision to unilaterally rewrite immigration law and grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants is in clear violation of the U.S. Constitution – and it makes a mockery of our laws and the balance of powers.  The United States is a nation of immigrants, but we are a nation of laws.  I applaud the Supreme Court for restoring the rule of law and halting this unconstitutional and unlawful power grab by the President.”
