WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36), Co-Chairman of the House Border Security Caucus, released the following statement after joining several other Republican Members of Congress in sending a letter to the Departments of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and Defense inquiring about the containment plan if and when a legal or illegal immigrant crosses our unsecured southern border and screens positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

“The threat of an individual infected with COVID-19 or another disease coming across our porous southern border is a great risk to the health and protection of Americans,” said Babin. “As this global epidemic grows, containment is essential, and we cannot afford to be caught off guard. This virus has proved it will not be confined by borders. A plan must be put in place now in order to keep us all safe in the future.”
