Mail Service to Resume Today in Devers Following Tropical Storm Imelda

DAYTON, TX – U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) applauds the decision by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to open a mobile unit in Devers, TX. The Devers Post Office is being repaired following damage incurred by Tropical Storm Imelda. USPS Houston District Officials have informed Rep. Babin that the mobile unit is being set up and will begin serving the residents of Devers today, Friday, October 11. They assured the Congressman that the unit will remain in place until the building is repaired and it will be staffed during normal business hours (Monday thru Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM).

“Tropical Storm Imelda caused widespread damage across Southeast Texas, impacting numerous postal facilities,” said Babin. “While this is not a permanent solution, it is definitely a step in the right direction. I am hopeful this mobile unit will make it easier for the elderly and those who work long hours to receive their mail.”
