Babin Supports House Passage of the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement in support of the House passage of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Flexibility Act (H.R. 7010). This bill will amend the Small Business Act and the CARES Act to modify certain provisions related to the forgiveness of loans under the PPP, to allow recipients of loan forgiveness under the PPP to defer payroll taxes, and more.

“The SBA’s PPP has been a lifeline for millions of America’s small businesses during the ongoing pandemic,” said Babin. “As our economy continues to reopen, small businesses are being asked to comply with the changing restrictions that are contained within each of these phases. In turn, many need more flexibility for the terms of their PPP loans – this bill guarantees just that, and I’m proud to have voted for it. I urge the Senate to quickly pass this important legislation so it can begin to aid small businesses and help them survive this challenging time.”
