How do you plan to spend your new tax savings?

With the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act now the law of the land, there is much-needed tax relief on the way for hardworking American families and small businesses. I fundamentally believe that this money belongs to the taxpayers -- not Washington politicians -- and it is exactly why I voted to return more of your hard-earned money.

By doubling the child tax credit, lowering rates and preserving key tax deductions (including doubling the standard deduction), the average family across the 36th Congressional District will see their federal tax bill lowered by $1,000 to $2,000. This will ensure you can keep more of your money to spend, save or invest as you see fit.

In addition, small businesses will see a tax deduction of 20%. For a business with income up to $315,000, they will be allowed to deduct 20% from their taxes, which means $63,000 is protected from taxes and can instead be used to grow their business, create jobs and increase pay or benefits for their employees.

The simple fact is this is YOUR money and you should decide how to spend it – not politicians and bureaucrats in Washington.
