Commending President Trump's Supreme Court Nomination 
 Judge Amy Coney Barrett is an extremely qualified jurist and another wise nomination made by our Commander in Chief. I have no doubt she will serve our country admirably as an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

President Trump has fulfilled his Constitutional duty, now the Senate must do the same and confirm her as soon as possible. I’m praying for strength and perseverance for Judge Barrett and her family during the coming days and weeks and look forward to seeing her take her well-deserved seat on our nation’s highest court.

If Speaker Pelosi actually cared about the health of Americans, she would’ve tried to work with us on a COVID-19 bill that has a chance in the Senate. Instead, she offered another hyper-partisan bill that will go nowhere – holding relief hostage for ANOTHER week.

 On Monday morning, I was proud to present Vidor ISD's Honorary Police Captain, Weston Keisler, with an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor, as well as a challenge coin. Captain Weston is an inspiration to us all and a fine Southeast Texas lawman.

 Democrats are lying about the GOP's plan for pre-existing conditions.

FACTS:

1. Republicans support health policies that protect pre-existing conditions while offering more choice, lower costs, and better care to Americans.
2. Laws to protect pre-existing conditions are in place and will STAY in place – even during legal challenges.

Liberals in Congress should stop playing politics and affirm pre-existing condition protections into law right now, but they would rather score political points than admit the ACA’s foundation was unconstitutional and pass actual legislation to protect patients.

Attending the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay Project Agreement Signing
 Earlier this year, I was successful in ensuring that the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay project was included in this year’s WRDA Act. This important initiative will correct a drainage issue in Orange County and aid greatly in preventing future flooding in the region.

I'm proud to have had the opportunity to join Orange County officials and representatives from the Texas General Land Office and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the official signing of the project agreement. This levee will benefit so many, and I'm glad to have helped make this project a reality.

Remembering Navy SEAL Commander Seth Stone
On Wednesday, I paused to remember the life of Navy SEAL Commander Seth Stone. I remain incredibly proud to have known him and will be forever grateful for his service to our country. His memory lives on in the lives of all who knew him – especially those like my son who had the privilege to serve alongside him.

If you're a TX-36 resident and experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever or cough), shortness of breath, or believe you've been exposed to the novel coronavirus, please call your county's COVID-19 call center.
Current COVID-19 Numbers in the U.S.
 As of October 3, 2020, the current number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths in the U.S. are as follows:

Total Cases: 7,310,625
Total Deaths: 208,118

These numbers have most likely changed as more tests are becoming available each day. You can keep track on the CDC's webpage below.
