Nearly 200 People Attend Flood Disaster Assistance Workshop Hosted by Babin Office in Deweyville
Nearly 200 people attended a “Flood Disaster Assistance Workshop" on Thursday night hosted by our office at the Deweyville High School gymnasium. The event, which featured representatives from FEMA, SBA and other community recovery agencies, provided flood victims in Newton, Orange, and Jasper counties with an opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from these agencies on applying for assistance.

Our office wants to ensure that our community receives the information and assistance they need to recover. These federal agency employees are the experts on these programs and in disaster recovery. We felt that it was important that we helped facilitate this discussion and allow residents a chance to hear from them and ask questions. Our goal is to make sure that no one falls through the cracks.
Individuals who believe they may qualify for assistance should contact FEMA and SBA. Our staff remains available to help put affected constituents in direct contact with the proper federal relief management agencies. Additionally, several residents raised questions about the events and decisions prior to the flooding. Our office is looking into that matter, particularly as it relates to any federal agency involvement.
Babin Office Hosts Its Second Flood Disaster Assistance Workshop in Orange
Our staff hosted an additional “Flood Disaster Assistance Workshop" on Friday evening in Orange at the West Orange-Cove CISD Administration Building. This event was the first opportunity for Orange County residents to register in person with FEMA and the SBA. For assistance with FEMA, SBA or any other federal agency, you may contact our staff at 409-883-8075.

Babin Joins Sean Hannity Radio Show
- Discusses His Latest Effort to Protect Americans from Reckless Refugee Program -
I spoke with Sean Hannity about my latest effort to ensure all refugees from areas of radical jihad are fully screened and cleared by the FBI, DHS and DNI before they are admitted to the United States. The current refugee program puts the safety and security of the American people at risk – every single day – and I will not stop taking steps to address the real threat that we face from jihadists infiltrating this reckless program and exploiting the gaps in our immigration policies.
