Babin Responds to Obama Administration’s Mandate on Gender-Neutral School Bathrooms
It is unconscionable to force upon tens of millions of American elementary, middle and high schools students mixed gender bathrooms and changing rooms. Unfortunately, President Obama has chosen to set aside not only common sense, but also common decency, which violates the privacy and modesty of every child in America.

It is the epitome of high-handed Washington overreach for the federal government to force local schools to permit a 12 year-old boy – who happens to identify as a girl – to use changing rooms and bathrooms with five year-old girls! Schools across America should not be threatened if they fail to adopt the Obama Administration’s radical gender-neutral bathroom policies. This is yet another reason why the bloated and wasteful Department of Education should be dismantled and this dangerous agenda must be stopped

Roundtable Discussion With Houston Maritime Stakeholders and Port Officials
We had a great meeting on Tuesday at the Port of Houston Authority with maritime stakeholders from across Southeast Texas about the upcoming Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).

As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I look forward to working closely with these local officials to ensure our area remains a leader in the maritime industry.

House GOP Wins Obamacare Lawsuit
A federal judge on Thursday ruled in favor of House Republicans that the Obama Administration has been unlawfully funding an Obamacare subsidy program without Congressional approval.

The judge's decision, which was brought on by a 2014 lawsuit, provides an important victory for the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution. Only Congress can write the laws. The House must protect its Constitutional rights over federal spending and reject President Obama’s executive overreach, which has spent billions of dollars in unauthorized spending to prop up his faltering Obamacare law.
