A Shout-out from the President
President Trump kindly gave me a shout-out on Twitter this week while I was a guest on Trish Regan Primetime discussing the meeting between Vice President Pence and President Erdogan. We also spoke about how ludicrous this impeachment inquiry really is.
House Democrats continue to hold secret meetings on impeachment – refusing access to any Republican Member of Congress. They have thrown out any kind of fairness or due process in these proceedings. The American people deserve to have transparency. Sadly, it does not appear likely that we will get it any time soon.

Texas Unemployment at Record Low
Since President Trump took office, Texas’s unemployment rate has fallen from 4.8% to a record low of 3.4%. Prior to 2018, the Lone Star State's unemployment rate had NEVER fallen below 4%. Thanks to the President's leadership and Republican policies, it has now stayed below that level for 16 months.

Reports Indicate 22M Illegals Reside in U.S.
I joined The Evening Edit on Fox Business from Dallas Thursday night to discuss reports indicating that there are 22 million illegal aliens currently residing in the United States – more than DOUBLE the amount currently reported by official government statistics. America has a fair and efficient process for legal immigration in place, and it is simply inexcusable to have this many illegal aliens openly breaking our laws by living here.

If you're wondering who is footing the bill for these millions of aliens – look in the mirror because it’s you, the American taxpayer!

Reps. Babin and Rouda Introduce Bipartisan SMART Infrastructure Act
Earlier this week, Congressman Harley Rouda (CA-48) and I introduced H.R. 4687, the Sustainable Municipal Access to Resilient Technology in Infrastructure (SMART Infrastructure) Act, along with Reps. Grace Napolitano (CA-32) and Ralph Norman (SC-05).

Congress is responsible for making sure we get the most out of every American taxpayer dollar it spends, and the SMART Infrastructure Act will ensure just that. This bill makes a simple, but critical, reform to our federally-funded procurement and project-development process by returning authority and responsibility to the construction professionals who know best.

ICE's Family Fraud Initiative
Since ICE launched their Family Unit Initiative, they have identified hundreds of illegal aliens claiming to be family units at the southern border. They have also found numerous adults attempting to pass as minors as well as seized a multitude of documents created to support these false claims.

Calling to Censure Rep. Adam Schiff
House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Adam Schiff, should not be allowed to falsify information, disregard facts, and put words into President Trump’s mouth – during a Congressional hearing – all in the name of parody. What kind of precedent is set if this recklessness is permitted? I am proud to join the call of Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-05) and 120-plus other Republican colleagues to censure him for his actions.

The lengths that House Democrats will go to bring down our President is appalling.

The Passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings
Congressman Elijah Cummings (MD-07) chaired the committee that passed my bill, H.R. 1250, to rename a post office in the 36th Congressional District in honor of fallen American veteran, Lucas Lowe.

I was saddened to learn of his passing Thursday morning. He worked hard to advocate for the things he believed in and the people of his community. It was a privilege to serve with him in the U.S. Congress, and my prayers remain with his friends and loved ones at this time.
Lowering  Prescription Drug Prices
We can all agree that prescription drug prices are entirely too costly. Fortunately, there are bipartisan solutions that Congress can pass right now to lower them – if only Democrats were willing to work with us and check their political games at the door.

Take a moment to read the Op-Ed below by Representatives Kevin Brady (TX-08), Virginia Foxx (NC-05), and Greg Walden (OR-02).

Thanks to Fox & Friends First for having me on (very early!) Friday morning from Dallas to discuss the situation in Syria and whether House Democrats will ever get back to actually legislating.
