Science Committee Approves Babin's Bipartisan NASA Authorization Act of 2018

I always enjoy meetings with JSC and NASA leadership (pictured) to discuss moving our space program forward.

The Committee on Science, Space and Technology passed, with bipartisan support, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Authorization Act of 2018 (H.R. 5503) that I authored. H.R. 5503 is forward-looking for NASA and our nation’s space program by providing robust funding to Johnson Space Center, the Space Launch System, Orion and the International Space Station. It also ensures that America will continue to lead the world in human space flight, exploration, aeronautics and scientific research. You can find the full overview of my bill here

2018 Congressional Art Competition Winners Announced

It was a pleasure to host our 2018 Congressional Art Competition on April 21. We had over 50 submissions under the theme of "Hurricane Harvey Through Your Eyes" and couldn’t have asked for better artwork. Congratulations to Juliann Dooley of Warren High School for her artwork, “Humanity,” winning first place and earning a spot in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year. Second and third place artwork from Fredy Rubio of Crosby High School and Rachael Matthews from Deer Park High School will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. office. Upholding Conservative Principles
The American Conservative Union (ACU) presented me with their 2018 Award for Conservative Excellence in recognition of my 97% conservative voting record in the 115th Congress. Voting for conservative principles such as repealing Obamacare and stopping proposed job killing regulations is just common sense, and I plan to keep fighting for these policies in the weeks and months ahead. You can find out more about the awards here.

Review Your Updated Tax Withholding Under New Tax Cuts & Jobs Act

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has officially kicked in, which means it’s time to double check your withholding for 2018. The IRS recently released an updated
withholding calculator on IRS.gov and a new version of the form W-4 to help taxpayers check their withholding following the historic passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December. Thanks to tax cuts, we should see a more simplified process and more money going back in the pockets of hard working Americans.
