Babin Reintroduces TAPS Act to Protect Communities and Schools from Violence |
I am excited to reintroduce the TAPS Act to protect our communities and schools from targeted violence. Over the past year I have worked to ensure law enforcement, mental health professionals, and schools across the country can work together using behavioral threat assessment and management, a process developed by the Secret Service to protect against potential threats. I have reintroduced this bipartisan bill with U.S. Representative Val Demings, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Kyrsten Sinema and Senator Thom Tillis and will do all I can to get this bill signed into law.

A Sad Day for Our Unborn |
I am outraged and heartbroken that our country has allowed the killing of 61 million unborn babies, and tragically this number grows by the minute. This bill is an atrocity to all human life, especially to the innocent babies who are just moments away from taking their first breath. It is utterly heartless and makes me sick.

More Mueller Hypocrisy |
Mueller and his team are indicting and arresting and folks in the middle of the night based on unverified information paid for by the Hillary campaign and promoted by disgraced DOJ employees. Mueller’s pre-dawn raid on 67 year old Roger Stone, who earlier had publicly admitted he expected to be charged and would go quietly, took 17 vehicles and 29 armed agents, wasting tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on top of the millions already spent without accountability. All their indictments have been totally unrelated to the stated purpose of the special prosecutor to find collusion with the Russians to get information on Hillary Clinton.
Mueller’s apparent intent is to bring the weight of the law down on as many in the Trump circle as possible in an attempt to flip them to accuse the President of crimes for which there is no evidence. All the while, Mueller is ignoring that the Hillary campaign hired a foreign spy to compile a fake Russian dossier of fictitious and salacious information on Trump to enable the FBI to spy on him and Trump insiders to discredit his candidacy. The hypocrisy of Mueller and his enablers is astounding and totally exposes their political bias. It is hard to imagine this is going on in the United States of America right before our eyes and nothing is being done about it. |

Dems Propose 90 Percent Tax Rate |
My new Democrat colleague believes increasing taxes on many Americans up to 90 PERCENT would be “a place we can start.” If something that radical is only the beginning, I am afraid to hear what she envisions our nation looking like after Democrats are done with it.

Remembering Space Shuttle's Challenger and Columbia |
Monday marked the 33rd anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. On that fateful day we lost crewmembers Dick Scobee, Michael Smith, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Greg Jarvis, Judith Resnik and teacher Christa McAuliffe.
Our space program has galvanized Americans during tough times for decades, especially during the Cold War. These men and women who have overcome remarkable obstacles to attain mankind’s most outstanding achievements represent the highest American ideals.
Friday also marked 16 years since we tragically lost Space Shuttle Columbia crew members Rick Husband, William McCool, Michael Anderson, David Brown, Ilan Ramon, Kalpana Chawla and Laurel Clark during their re-entry over Texas. This devastated parts of southeast Texas, and I remember it with great sadness.
I hope we were able to pause this week to remember those we have lost and thank those endeavoring through today’s challenges to reinvigorate our space program and, once again, make the seemingly impossible a reality.
