Last week, I proudly hosted a veterans care roundtable with veteran advocates from across Southeast Texas, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, the VA Houston Regional Office, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Events like this provide a unique opportunity for us to learn from each other and advise where adjustments can be made to better serve those who’ve served us.
The 36th Congressional District is home to more than 50,000 veterans! As a veteran and health care provider myself, I will forever be committed to ensuring our veterans have access to the medical care, benefits, and treatments they have earned.

| Attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Cedar Bayou Improvement Project |
Last Wednesday, I was privileged to take part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cedar Bayou Improvement Project in Baytown – a monumental day in TX-36!
While this critical project has been authorized for 21 years, it lacked funding. After years of hard work with the Cedar Bayou Navigation District, local officials, Army Corps of Engineers Col. Tim Vail, and the Trump administration, $32.125 million in Corps funding was secured to finally start the dredging of Cedar Bayou.
I’m so proud that this project, which will improve safety, reduce shipping delays, help with flood mitigation, and continue fueling our region’s economic growth, will soon be underway!
