Babin Responds to Houston Grand Jury Indictment of Pro-Life Defenders
|
I was disappointed and shocked by a Houston grand jury’s decision to indict two individuals for their role in exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of aborted babies’ tissue and organs. It’s ridiculous that those who illegally sell aborted human body parts get a pass -- while these two pro-life defenders are indicted for using aliases to expose Planned Parenthood’s unlawful and disgusting practices.
This decision begs the question: how else could they get the truth? These operations are a common tactic used to uncover criminal activity. Sadly, this is another effort used to silence and intimidate those seeking to defend the unborn. While this is disappointing, it will certainly not work. I will continue to strongly support the ongoing investigation by a House Select Committee into Planned Parenthood’s actions and will not stop fighting to end all taxpayer funding for this organization.

It was truly an honor and privilege to participate in the Independence Plaza Debut at Space Center Houston last weekend. This remarkable replica of the NASA Space Shuttle will undoubtedly continue the legacy of inspiring future generations. Indeed, many who visit it will become tomorrow's flight controllers, engineers, astronauts, scientists - leading us into deep space. Congratulations to Space Center Houston and the entire team who envisioned this interactive display and made it happen.

Orange Rotary Club Meeting and International Paper Mill Tour
|
On Tuesday, we spent the day in Orange visiting with constituents and touring a local business. We started the day off at the Orange Rotary Club's meeting where Roxanne and I were both very moved by the program presented by Moo Baby Memory, Jessica Singer and the Jude Crew. We also toured the International Paper Orange Mill to learn more about the facility and its operations. Special thanks to Plant Manager Anitra Collins and the entire team for showing us around.

Had the very special opportunity of personally presenting a challenge coin to Kaiden Aven for the kindness, compassion, and concern he showed when he gave up his dog to an elderly man from Zavalla who had just suffered a stroke and lost his own dog. Kaiden's thoughtfulness should inspire us all!
It was an honor to participate in the 2016 AIPAC Houston Annual Event and express my strong support for Israel and the special bond shared between our two countries.
