This past Friday marked the 43rd anniversary of the Supreme Court's tragic ruling in Roe v. Wade. Since that day we have lost 57 million innocent lives. That is an astounding and absolutely heart numbing loss. Each one of those 57 million children had a future destroyed by abortion. The sanctity of human life must be protected. We have a duty to protect the life of all Americans, especially the unborn. For those who gathered in Washington D.C. for the annual March for Life, I offer my deepest thanks, admiration and support for braving the cold weather and snow to stand up for the unborn and provide a voice to the voiceless.

| Senate Democrats Block Bipartisan Bill Enhancing Security Screening for Syrian Refugees |
In truly remarkable fashion, Senate Democrats blocked a bipartisan bill this past week – which passed the House with a veto-proof majority – that would simply tighten background checks for Syrian and Iraqi refugees. President Obama’s own DHS, DNI and FBI directors have said that they cannot properly vet these folks. This bill was a modest but much-needed step forward. Sadly, Senate Democrats allowed political correctness and partisan politics to prevail over strengthening the safety and security of the American people.

Judge Rules Against Obama on 'Fast and Furious'

On Tuesday, a federal judge ruled that President Obama cannot use "executive privilege" to keep records on the “Fast and Furious” gun-tracking program from Congress. This was an important win for Congress and the balance of powers in Washington. As the Administration continues to stonewall Congressional investigators, this decision will help Americans get the truth surrounding this failed operation.
This past week we also found out that a .50-caliber rifle found at El Chapo's hideout in Mexico was funneled through "Fast and Furious." This is further evidence and more reason why former Attorney General Eric Holder and everyone involved in this deadly scheme must be held accountable. The American people deserve answers -- and I will do all that I can to see that justice is served for all those affected by this foolish program.
