New Cross-Border Drug Tunnel Discovered |
Last week, federal agents assigned to San Diego's Tunnel Taskforce and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol discovered a 2,000-plus foot cross-border drug tunnel extending from a warehouse in Tijuana to another in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego. This tunnel – which had an average depth of 31 feet – contained 4,400 pounds of illicit drugs that have a street value of more than $29 million.

Economic Impact Payment Distributions |
ATTENTION: On Tuesday, the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people.

Important Update for Social Security Recipients |
ICYMI: On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service announced that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. Instead, payments will be automatically deposited into their bank accounts.

FDA Approves New COVID-19 Test |
Thanks to the fast approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a new COVID-19 test will be able to deliver positive or negative results in as little as five minutes. Abbott Laboratories will be producing 50,0000 of these smaller, more portable tests a day and distributing them across the nation.
