Babin Explains House GOP Plan to Restore Health Care Freedom

As a health care provider myself for 38 years, I have seen firsthand how Obamacare undermines the doctor-patient relationship. I hear constantly from my constituents about how they are paying more for less and have lost access to their long-time providers and the specialists that they need. House Republicans have a better way. We have put forth a plan to repeal Obamacare and replace it with polices that provide the American people with the high quality, affordable health care they deserve.

Our plan would make health insurance portable, expand the use of health savings accounts and allow for insurance sales across state lines – giving Americans more choices and lower costs.  We create stability for families by prohibiting the sudden cancellations of plans and we make sure that those with pre-existing conditions have access to affordable coverage. Our plan also restores Obamacare’s massive cuts to Medicare Advantage and repeals the Independent Payment Advisory Board – the unelected, unaccountable board of bureaucrats that Obamacare created to cut Medicare benefits. Obamacare is a failed law – and it’s time to turn the page. I hope you will visit www.better.gop to learn more our plan, which will lead the American people towards affordable patient-focused care rather than government-directed care.

Snap-shots from Texas 36
It was great to meet Montana Piper of Livingston, Texas on Tuesday and present her with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for winning first place in the pole vault division at the USA Track & Field National Championship. Great job and keep up the hard work!
It was my pleasure to address the Tyler County Professional Development for Teachers on Wednesday as they prepare for the start of a new school year. As a former Woodville ISD School Board Member and the husband and father of teachers, I enjoyed the opportunity to express my strong support and commitment to the nearly 300 teachers in attendance from Woodville ISD, Warren ISD, Spurger ISD, Chester ISD, and Colmesneil ISD.
