Babin Leads the Charge Against President Obama’s Nuclear Deal with Iran
Votes to Reject Nuclear Deal

On Friday, I voted to reject the President’s nuclear agreement with Iran, which ultimately paves the way for a nuclear-armed Iran and threatens the security and safety of the American people. I also joined my colleagues in the House in passing legislation that determines the President has failed to follow the law by not providing Congress the full and complete Iran nuclear agreement, including the widely reported “secret side deals”. By withholding these details, we voted to suspend the President’s ability to lift economic sanctions that are currently levied against Iran.

Joins Conservative Leaders in Stop the Iran Deal Rally

Prior to the vote, I was proud to stand with Americans from across the country in front of the U.S. Capitol and speak in strong opposition to the President's foolish deal with Iran at the Stop the Iran Deal Rally hosted by Tea Party Patriots. We’re on the verge of the worst foreign policy disaster of our lifetime. The President has decided to align the U.S. with a terrorist regime -- and we must reject any effort that legitimizes and approves this terrible, unlawful and dangerous deal with Iran.

Visits Israel to Learn More About Terrorist Threats

Having recently returned from a fact finding mission to Israel, I can say without a doubt that approving this agreement could easily be the worst decision of our lifetime. During our visit, we had in-depth discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israeli President Rivlin and former Israeli Chief of Intelligence Yadlin. We also saw the direct security threats posed to Israel by Iran and Iranian-backed terrorists. If this deal moves forward, it will certainly lead to a Middle Eastern arms race that will permanently threaten the security and existence of our close-ally Israel. The stakes are too high. We must do everything we can to stop this deal.

Babin Honors the Life of Deputy Goforth & Condemns Violence Directed at Police
Deputy Darren Goforth was ambushed and murdered for one simple reason – his uniform. I spoke on the House floor last week to honor his life and express my outrage and contempt for those who have incited this war of hatred and violence towards our nation’s law enforcement officers. They have a very difficult job and it is a shame that the violent rhetoric of a very few are putting their lives at greater risk. During this difficult time, I stand in strong solidarity with our law enforcement officers and offer them and their families my unwavering commitment, attention and support.
