U.S. Congressman Brian Babin
Babin Calls for Declassification of Carter Page FISA Application

Pictured with other House Republicans at the press conference calling for the declassification of the Carter Page FISA Application

This past week, I joined with other House Republicans to call for the declassification of the Carter Page FISA application. After more than a year of investigation, the Mueller probe has yielded zero evidence of collusion. However, there is hard and tangible evidence of misconduct at the highest levels of the DOJ and FBI, and it is past time that we shed light on why nothing is being done about it. I have repeatedly said that a second Special Counsel needs to be appointed to bring justice and accountability to the individuals who exploited their positions to sweep real crimes under the rug and interfere with the outcome of the 2016 election – just because they hate Donald Trump. Declassifying the Carter Page FISA application would be an important step in getting the American people the answers they deserve.
Fighting for the Safety & Security of the American People

Speaking at the ACT for America's 2018 National Conference
As you know, there has been a great deal of debate here in Congress, and around the country, about our immigration system and how to fix its many flaws. I was proud to speak at ACT for America’s 2018 National Conference this past Wednesday about this extraordinarily important issue. As long as our borders remain unsecure and open, American sovereignty and safety is at risk.

I stand by the President’s pillars for immigration reform – securing our borders, ending the Diversity Visa Lottery Program, cracking down on sanctuary cities, ending chain migration, adding more boots on the ground at our southern border, and tightening “catch & release” loopholes. Our immigration system is the most generous in the world, but we cannot continue to allow lawlessness to prevail. I remain committed to the fight for a secure nation and the safety and security of the American people.
Babin Asks President Trump to Hold Pemex Accountable

Speaking with 'What's Your Point?" host, Greg Groogan

American companies cannot be left high and dry, but that is exactly what happened when Pemex, which is owned by the Mexican government, walked away from a $229 million contract with Loadmaster. I recently joined ‘What’s Your Point?’ on Fox 26 to ask the President to crack down on Pemex.

Thanking Our Service Members

Joining other Members of Congress to assemble care packages for the USO

United Services Organizations (USO) does so many wonderful things for the men and women bravely serving in our Armed Forces at home and around the world. As a veteran myself and the father of a Navy SEAL, I understand what burdens and worries are also placed on the spouses and children of those who have answered the call to serve our country. I am happy I could lend a hand in preparing care packages for the families of our deployed military service members yesterday. Thank you all for the many sacrifices you make while your loved one keeps us safe.

A Somber Trip
Before heading back to Washington after the August work period, I traveled to the country of Poland as part of a Congressional Delegation. Here, we visited soldiers of the U.S. Army’s 2nd Cav. Regiment, currently deployed in a remote area there -  including some from the great state of Texas.

These soldiers are part of a multinational force positioned within 100 miles of the Russian border to deter aggression in the region.

It was also a somber time, as we went to the Auschwitz concentration camp and heard stories of the atrocities carried out upon the Jewish people by Nazi Germany. I was deeply moved by the story of Edward Mosberg, a 92 year-old Polish-born American citizen who was sent to the Plaszow concentration camp as a boy with his parents and sisters – Edward was the only one of his family to survive.

After the war, he and his wife –a survivor of Auschwitz – moved to America where they began a business and raised a family. My deepest gratitude goes to Edward and his wife for sharing their stories to ensure that we never forget the horrors of this dark time.

I am thankful for the opportunity to meet with our Polish allies who have persevered through so much, and hope to continue our work together to defend against global threats.
