Babin: Terrorists Using Refugee Crisis To Enter U.S.

As I told the One America News Network, the influx of Syrian refugees will come with serious national security risks, in addition to economic harm. I will not stop pushing for an immediate suspension of this dangerous and costly program. To learn more, please click here.

Babin: Obama's Keystone Rejection Picks Extreme Environmentalists Over American Workers
While the President’s decision to reject Keystone is certainly not surprising, it is nonetheless the wrong one for America. The vast majority of Americans support Keystone – including a bipartisan majority of Congress – because it is good for the economy and strengthens America’s energy security.

By kowtowing to radical environmentalists and rejecting tens of thousands of good-paying American jobs, the President has decided to put his extreme environmental agenda ahead of the needs of hardworking Americans. The President’s decision undermines U.S. economic and national security by allowing Canadian oil to be shipped to China rather than the U.S.  He should be ashamed of this -- and the foolish way he handled the entire process.
Babin: Budget Deal Continues Path of Fiscal Suicide
On top of a giant $1.5 trillion debt-ceiling increase, this so-called “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015” also grew government spending by an additional $80 billion over the next two years. This alone was offensive enough to earn my NO vote.

As the grandfather of 12 grandchildren, I will have no part in Washington’s continued addiction to overspending, which has now burdened America’s future generations with a mountain of unconscionable debt.

Balancing our budget and paying down the debt will require that we make hard choices about what we can and cannot afford. Washington’s problem is not that is does not tax enough, but rather that it has an addiction to spending money it does not have.

As the representative of Texas’ 36th Congressional District, I remain focused on tackling these problems by cutting wasteful spending, opposing tax increases and bringing our budget into balance. To read more from my recent editorial in The Baytown Sun, please click here

Picture and Video of the Week
Had the special privilege of meeting the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Robert Neller, and Col. Dan Greenwood, Director Marine Corps House Liaison, during a celebration of the 240th Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps on Capitol Hill.
I applaud Senator Ted Cruz for holding a top Obama Justice Department official accountable for trying to cut off banking services to lawful firearm dealers. The President's DOJ is using “Operation Choke Point” as a way to undermine the lawful sale of firearms and punish law-abiding gun owners. That's why I've cosponsored and voted for legislation to defund "Operation Choke Point." To watch the video, please click here.
