Babin Replaces Veteran's Vandalized Flag
It was our honor to present Army veteran, Justin Harrison, a new American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol after his flag was destroyed by vandals over the Memorial Day weekend. It's the least that we could do for someone who has proudly served our nation in uniform.

Babin Joins Fox Business to Discuss His Efforts to Suspend the UN-led Refugee Program
I’ve been warning anyone that will listen about this foolish and reckless UN-led refugee program since arriving in Congress in 2014. It’s why I introduced the Resettlement Accountability National Security Act (H.R. 3314) last summer, which immediately suspends the program pending a complete financial audit and national security assessment. I took an oath under the U.S. Constitution to protect the American people from all enemies foreign and domestic -- and I will not relent in my efforts to address this gaping hole in our national security.

House Votes to Restore State Flexibility Over Ozone Standards
On Wednesday, the House passed the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2016 (H.R. 4775), legislation that I cosponsored to allow states the opportunity to pursue cost-effective and practical ways to implement the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s ozone standards.  As the representative of the 36th District of Texas, which has more petrochemical facilities than any other district in the country, I understand the unique impact and extreme difficulties that the EPA’s new ozone regulations will impose on our jobs and economy in Southeast Texas.

The EPA’s proposed regulations are unnecessary, unworkable and will destroy thousands of American jobs – with few areas feeling the impact more than Southeast Texas. In fact, Yellowstone National Park, which has no industry, cannot even comply with these extreme regulations. Our bipartisan legislation allows states to address ozone levels through an open, transparent and fair process that improves air quality without adding job killing and unachievable regulations.

Snap-shots from the Week
I had the opportunity to sit-down with former Speaker Newt Gingrich and House Science Committee Chairman Lamar Smith to discuss the direction of our nation's space program and how America can lead the world in space exploration.
It was great meeting the Soich Family from Seabrook during their U.S. Capitol tour. If you're planning a trip to DC, please let us know.
