| Democrats Introduce the Disastrous New Way Forward Act |
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and more than 40 other House Democrats, have proposed one of the most radical and shocking bills I’ve ever read. The New Way Forward Act (H.R. 5383) will create a new immigration system with the sole goal of protecting CRIMINAL illegal aliens – granting them the ability to move to the U.S. and settle permanently, with immunity.
The New Way Forward Act would not only endanger the lives of every American citizen, but also completely destroy our nation as we know it. We would no longer have sanctuary cities, we would be a sanctuary country.
I will fight until my last breath to ensure this heinous bill never becomes law. One America News Network's Liz Wheeler and I discussed the bad policies of this bill Wednesday night on the Tipping Point.

| President Trump Signs the Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act |
It was a privilege to join President Trump at the White House this week for the signing ceremony of the Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act (S. 153). By signing this bill, the President and Congress have worked together to smooth the transition from military service to civilian life for America’s veterans.

| Customs and Border Patrol's Astonishing Drug Seizures |
In the first four months of Fiscal Year 2020, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has already impounded more than 309,000 pounds of drugs.
Last month alone, CBP seized 53,736 pounds of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, marijuana, and meth – 50,307 of those pounds were confiscated along the southern border. Let that sink in.
CBP is doing vital work every single day to protect Americans from deadly drugs and people who mean to do us harm.

| Majority of Americans Say They're Better Off Now |
According to a new Gallup survey, 61% of Americans say they're better off now than they were three years ago. If that's not enough, nearly 59% of Americans state they're more financially secure now than they were a year ago.
Our economy continues to soar, and folks are thriving because of it!

| Border Apprehensions Continue to Decline |
For the eighth straight month, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) enforcement's illegal alien apprehensions along the southern border have declined. Since the more than 144,000 illegal aliens were captured in May of 2019, apprehensions have gone down 74.5%.
The number of aliens caught in January (36,679) is still entirely too high, but I am glad we are seeing steady improvement. |
| Houston Ship Channel and Cedar Bayou Channel to Receive Key Funding |
The Trump Administration announced that both the Houston Ship Channel and Cedar Bayou Channel will receive key funding in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fiscal Year 2020 Work Plan.
The Houston Ship Channel-Expansion Channel Improvement Project (HSC-ECIP) will receive $1,130,000 in the Work Plan for pre-construction and engineering and design. Additionally, the Port of Houston will be given $70,387,500 to go toward the total maintenance dredging allocation for the Houston Ship Channel.

Meanwhile, the Cedar Bayou Navigation District’s Channel Improvement Project has been allocated $32,125,000 which will be used to complete the dredging of Cedar Bayou in order to aid in flood mitigation and enhance the mobility of commerce along the federal channel.

The road to deep space goes right through the 36th District of Texas!
I was proud to host several of our local NASA suppliers of the Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft on Wednesday. Much of the work done on these vital systems is completed in our own backyard – Houston, TX.
Together the SLS and Orion systems will put Americans back on the Moon and propel us onward to Mars. |
