Dear Friend,
As our nation continues to battle through a pandemic and question the integrity of our democratic election process, I encourage you not to lose hope and to recognize the many blessings in your life that each of us has to be thankful for.
I pray you all are spending today with your friends and loved ones either from a distance or – if you choose – in person. There’s been much debate lately about social gatherings during the holidays, but here’s the bottom line: The federal government should never have the power to mandate when you can and cannot spend time with your family.
After nearly a year of grappling with COVID-19, Americans know the risks and are capable of deciding for themselves if those risks are worth it or not. I refuse to allow this virus to be used as an excuse to take away our rights.
Please know that I will continue fighting to protect our constitutional rights, for the reopening of our economy, and for election integrity. Although much is up in the air, I firmly believe America is the greatest country in the world and is worth the fight.
This Thanksgiving might look different than the rest, but I truly hope you all can take time away from life’s many stresses to enjoy the precious moments with those around you. I also pray we all take a moment to remember our brave military men and women defending our nation overseas.
Stay safe – stay vigilant. God bless you all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Rep. Brian Babin
