Rep. Babin Joins Tucker Carlson to Discuss His Bill to Punish Countries That Don't Accept Deportations |
I joined Tucker Carlson on Fox News this week to discuss my bill, the Criminal Alien Deportation Enforcement Act (H.R. 82), which will punish countries who do not accept deportations. My bill presents a simple solution to a very real problem: if you don’t take back your criminals, then you no longer get U.S. aid or visas. This is a no-brainer. The federal government should not be rewarding countries who are undermining the safety of its own citizens. It is time we take a stand and put a stop to this madness that is allowing dangerous criminals back onto our streets.
This week, President Trump also issued two executive orders that will help secure our borders and restore the rule of law. As someone who has been fighting tirelessly in Congress to address these issues, I applaud the President's actions. But after executive orders going in exactly the wrong direction for the past eight years we cannot be dependent upon a President doing the right thing. That's why we must put these reforms in law – and pass my Criminal Alien Deportation Enforcement Act (H.R. 82) and Resettlement Accountability National Security Act (H.R. 80). |
| House Passes Bill to End Taxpayer Funding for Abortion |
I was proud to join my colleagues this week in passing the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7) to make sure your tax dollars are no longer used to subsidize abortions. The government should not be in the business of killing unborn babies. This is a much-needed bill that will end taxpayer funding of abortion once and for all by permanently codifying the Hyde Amendment and applying it across the entire federal government. I urge the Senate to quickly follow suit and send this bill to President Trump's desk for his signature.
We also received welcome news this week as President Trump issued an executive order to reinstate the "Mexico City Policy," which bans U.S. foreign aid for any group that provides abortions overseas. Taxpayer money should never be used to fund abortions – both at home and abroad. |
